Visiting Options
Dear Family, Friends and Residents:
Balancing COVID-19 safety and visitation restrictions with the well-being of residents at Oak Hills Living Center is a critical priority. Utilizing the best guidance available from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH), we have instituted various visitation options.
Indoor visitation options are dependent upon a myriad of factors, including the two-week COVID-19 Brown County positivity rate, COVID-19 cases in the facility within the last 14 days, and other clinical safety factors. Because of this interdependency some of these visitation options are subject to change. Additionally, to ensure adequate social distancing, the number of visitors is limited at any given time, therefore subject to scheduling availability.
Please call Oak Hills Living Center at (507) 233-0800 or visit our website at https://oakhillsnewulm.com for the most current information regarding what options are available for visitation and scheduling information.

*****We are prohibited from accommodating indoor visits if we have had a new onset case of COVID-19 in the past 14 days or if we are currently conducting outbreak testing. Furthermore, if the case positivity rate in Brown County/surrounding counties is high, we will pause in-person indoor visitations. Information about Oak Hills Living Center’s testing results are posted on this web page.
There will be additional information provided to you regarding the level of personal protective equipment (PPE) you are expected to wear during your visits. At a minimum, all visitors must pass a symptom screening, must always wear a face mask, practice social distancing and good hand hygiene.
Protective Measures
We are working in collaboration with the Minnesota Department of Health to ensure we are taking all appropriate steps. In addition, we are following all recommended guidance from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Service and the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention to protect our residents and staff from this virus and will continue to take every action possible to prevent it from spreading in our setting.
We’re screening all who must enter the building – such as staff and suppliers – upon entering. Anyone who reports symptoms is not allowed to enter the building.
Our COVID-19 unit was set up several months ago and is designed to care for residents with confirmed positive COVID-19. This unit is completely separated from the rest of the building and is staffed with designated staff who will only work on that unit.
