Environmental Services Positions
At Oak Hills Living Center in New Ulm
Laundry Aide
Responsibilities
- Collect, sort, and launder linens, towels, and other washable items following hygiene and safety standards.
- Operate and maintain laundry equipment such as washers, dryers, and folding machines.
- Ensure proper handling of soiled and clean laundry to prevent cross-contamination.
- Maintain inventory of laundry supplies and report shortages.
- Transport clean linens and other items to the appropriate areas within the facility.
Qualifications
- Minimum of an 8th-grade education.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English sufficiently to complete tasks.
- Ability to follow specific laundry handling protocols and operate equipment safely.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds and perform tasks involving repetitive motion.
- Physical stamina to sort, fold, and carry laundry throughout a shift.
- Attention to detail and the ability to maintain hygiene standards.
Housekeeper
Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize assigned areas, including patient rooms, restrooms, hallways, and common areas, following facility guidelines.
- Empty trash, replenish supplies, and ensure surfaces are free from dust and debris.
- Perform floor care tasks such as vacuuming, mopping, and buffing as needed.
- Follow infection control protocols to maintain a safe and sanitary environment.
- Report maintenance or safety issues to the appropriate department.
Qualifications
- Minimum of an 8th-grade education.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English sufficiently to complete tasks.
- Ability to work efficiently and maintain attention to detail while cleaning and sanitizing.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds and work in physically demanding conditions.
- Familiarity with cleaning equipment and materials is preferred.
