We recently received a Community support award from Minnesota Valley Action Council and wanted to share what they had to say about our partnership with them! We are grateful for our community partners and support. Thank you MVAC and Natasha! We are honored to recognize Oak Hills Living Center for their outstanding partnership and unwavering commitment to supporting MVAC for more than 15 years. Through their collaboration with our Youth Department, Oak Hills has provided meaningful work experience opportunities for young people entering the workforce for the first time. For many of our youth, these experiences are far more than a first job — they are a chance to build confidence, develop responsibility, learn workplace expectations, and discover their own strengths and abilities. Over the years, Oak Hills has welcomed a large number of young people into a variety of departments, including dietary, activities, and housekeeping. Many of these placements have grown into long‑term jobs and even full careers. In addition to work experiences, Oak Hills has consistently opened their doors for job shadows, giving youth the chance to explore different roles, observe professionals in action, and gain clarity about their future career paths. Oak Hills has also gone above and beyond by directly hiring many of our clients, offering volunteer opportunities that help individuals build service hours and community engagement, and supporting those interested in healthcare by providing access to CNA training and pathways into the field. These opportunities have empowered community members take meaningful steps toward independence and long‑term success. The staff at Oak Hills have demonstrated patience, encouragement, and a genuine investment in helping youth succeed. By creating a welcoming and supportive environment, they have helped young people gain valuable skills that prepare them for future employment and greater independence. Their willingness to mentor and guide those who may need additional support has made a lasting impact not only on the individuals they serve, but on our community as a whole. Oak Hills exemplifies what true community partnership looks like, and we are deeply grateful for the opportunities they continue to provide. It is with sincere appreciation that we recognize Oak Hills Living Center for the positive difference they have made in the lives of our clients.
