We had special visitors from St Anthony’s Kindergarten class on Friday! #oakhillsfamily #makingadifference
Tropical dress up today! We also had one of the most fun meaningful activities. Oak Hills Iron Chef contest, where staff sign up to bring a homemade item, and residents and staff taste test and vote for a winner. This time we added a twist - the theme was desserts and the twist was it needed to be a recipe from a resident (or grandparent). We had over 15 different homemade desserts brought in by staff members that took the time to ask residents for a dessert recipe (some residents were even calling family members looking for their favorites from long ago), bought the ingredients, and on their own time made these recipes to bring to work to share with everyone! It was a close competition, many compliments were given to all the tasty desserts, and in the end the Carol Flygare family rhubarb dessert recipe won! We had several rhubarb desserts, a few cookies, a few jello recipes - that was a big thing back then, along with many other unique and classic recipes! I am truly proud of all the staff that participated and cant thank them enough! I hope we can do it again soon! #oakhillsfamily #makingadifference
