A growing population of older adults
Did you know that long term predictions for Brown County show the population in the 80-84 year old age group will grow 48% between the years 2025-2050? Even in a pandemic, maneuvering through a day to day that was unpredictable Oak Hills’ Boards and Leadership Team continued to ensure we were forward thinking. A market study was completed by Zellner Senior Health Consulting in 2019 and refreshed in February of 2020 that showed us that the senior population will continue increasing while in Brown County and the surrounding area current memory care units are already 100% occupied and assisted living units are more than 90% occupied.
Established Our Roots
Oak Hills Living Center established our roots as Highland Manor in 1958.
A New Facility
In 1995, a new facility was built and rebranded as Oak Hills Living Center to offer a home to 94 seniors in our skilled nursing facility and 16 seniors in our assisted living.
An Additional Branch
We added an additional branch to our facility in 2003 with 16 additional assisted living apartments as a result of a grant from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
A Complete Remodel
In 2008, our home was completely remodeled to create the relaxed, warm and welcoming atmosphere we have today.
We evolve so you can flourish here!
We have carefully assessed the needs of the community and feasibility of the newest growth of our Oak and determined that our current studio apartments do not provide sufficient space for many seniors looking to make the transition from independent living to assisted living. Our carefully designed growth positions us to add to our continuum of care by reconfiguring 16 of our assisted living apartments to offer options of 2 bedroom, 1 bedroom or studio size options as well as add an additional 15 enhanced assisted living units and 15 memory care units while continuing to offer our 16 HUD apartments unchanged.
