It seems the weather has finally turned nice (knock on wood, we do live in MN), and we are taking advantage of it. Gigi Rsydahl and family has been busy getting our garden area ready in the courtyard and it is looking very nice. She also held a perennial plant sale fund raiser and the funds went to the Memorial foundation for their project of a walking path around Oak Hills. According to Memorial foundation director Kathy Austinson half of the funds have been raised for that project already.
We are planning some outdoor activities including a fishing trip to Sleepy Eye lake with the Sleepy Eye sportsman boating and bobber’s group. They have a pontoon and are able to take residents out for a ride and to do a little fishing. We will be taking a bus tour around town. Michelle Schroeder and her family will be bringing in a calf to our courtyard on Saturday, June 23rd at 2:00pm for the residents to see. We will also be serving milk shakes to celebrate dairy month and hosting a berry party where residents will get to enjoy fresh berries and ice cream.
We would like to congratulate Candas Schouvieller on her National Association of Nutrition and Food Service Professionals Ambassador Award.
Mark your calendars, the Ice Cream social is coming up on Weds, July 11th from 6-8pm with the New Ulm Municipal Band playing from 6:30-8:30pm.
