Candas Schouvieller, Administrator
Oak Hills Living Center is a stand-alone, non-profit long-term care and assisted living facility. Oak Hills does not have an owner, it is community owned and governed by an Operating Board of Directors comprised of community members.
Our current Operating Board of Directors include Chris Jensen, Jay Vancura, Dr. Joan Krikava, Barb Dietz, Betsy Pieser, Danielle Marti, Michelle Markgraf, Judi Nelson and James Unke. While staff and Board members may change the one constant is you. You will always own Oak Hills, it’s the community’s home.
In my 30-year history with Oak Hills Living Center, I witnessed many changes including a new building when Highland Manor no longer met the needs of the community. Through all these changes the level of care has always been personalized and high quality. So much so, that when my patients needed referrals to skilled nursing care, I referred many and when my own mother needed short-term care, I chose Oak Hills. Oak Hills Living Center has demonstrated a commitment to meet the needs of seniors in the community. The addition of dementia care and extended assisted living will meet critical needs for years to come.

Our employee of the month is Mandi Malcolm, charge nurse! Mandi was nominated by her co workers for always going above and beyond for our residents. Mandi has worked as a TMA and in medical records, and then decided to go to nursing school and become a nurse! It is one of the best decisions she has made! Mandi leads by example, always jumping in to help with whatever needs to be done, from helping with resident cares to doing dishes and helping with meal service in the dining room. She takes charge, and gives guidance and direction in a calm, positive way. Mandi we are proud of all you have accomplished! Congratulations!
Meet a Resident
We are excited to introduce you to Macie. Macie is 14 years old and lives on the second floor of our skilled nursing facility. She is well loved and makes her way around the entire second floor at her leisure. She is very friendly but does not like belly rubs. Macie found a special connection with Jane who passed away this fall. Since her passing Macie dutifully watches over all of her people on Neighborhood 2.
