We have been informed that 6 of our staff members and 6 residents have tested positive for COVID-19 from testing this week. We have moved the residents to our Covid unit where they will be quarantined for 14 days. The staff that tested positive are in quarantine at home for 14 days. We are staffing the COVID unit with our COVID team, so those staff will not be taking care of any other residents. Those that had contact with these individuals have been informed of the exposure and if your loved one was one that tested positive, you would have been notified immediately as well. The 6 residents that tested positive were all in the same household. We did another round of testing on the other residents on that household and they have all tested negative both times. All of the individual’s that have tested positive, have been on the nursing home side. We are happy to report that we have not had any positive cases on our assisted living side.
We are working in collaboration with the Minnesota Department of Health to ensure we are taking all appropriate steps. In addition, we are following all recommended guidance from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Service and the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention to protect our residents and staff from this virus and will continue to take every action possible to prevent it from spreading in our setting.
Due to the positivity rate in Brown County, we will now be conducting testing twice a week for our staff.
Due to the increase in the number of positive cases that we are seeing within our facility and the positivity rate in Brown County, we will continue to suspend Essential Caregiver visits at this time until further notice.
